By joining our team, you will participate in the analysis and calculations related to the valuation of policy liabilities, by supporting the corporate actuarial team.

Main responsabilities

Actuarial calculations and analyses

• Participate in the calculation of actuarial reserves according to current standards

• Perform the collection and analysis of internal data necessary for the various liability calculations

• Participate in calculations for equity requirements

• Participate in the preparation of annual budgets

• Participate in the realization of the company's various experience studies

IT System Updates

• Continuously update and validate the AXIS assessment system with respect to the coding of parameters used for the assessment of reserves

• Developing and/or improving IT tools

Technical Support / Internal Customer Service

• Support other team members in achieving the department's objectives

• Support other services (risk management, accounting, pricing, administration, etc.) and provide requested data

• Prepare extracts of force to provide to our retrocessionaries

Requirements and skills

Experience and education

• University degree in actuarial science or mathematics

• Have passed at least (2) Society of Actuaries (SOA) examinations

• Basic knowledge of the insurance and/or reinsurance market
• First experience in insurance/reinsurance desired (internship, student job, etc.)

Qualities and abilities

• Strong organizational skills 

• Ability to work under pressure 

• Excellent programming and data manipulation skills (Excel, Access)

• Knowledge of AXIS is an asset

• Team spirit

• Good command of French and English, oral and written (Society in Dallas, United States)
